The DGI Edge
Choosing the right combination of measures for your company’s clinical trials can be challenging. SymptomGuide™ delivers comprehensive, clinically meaningful results vital for regulators and payors. When combined with our state of the art data mining protocols, these results provide the perspective of the patient/caregiver and clinician and “at-a-glance” results that simplify communication of benefits to regulators, payors and prescribers.
SymptomGuide™ is presented in an elegant, easy to use format that utilizes drop down menus to facilitate choice of important symptoms. Implementation is simpler and faster. We also provide a training program for clinical staff working directly with patients and their caregivers to help them understand the few necessary steps in using SymptomGuide™.
SymptomGuideTM ... Turning Anecdote into Evidence
SymptomGuide™ measures all domains of dementia ... so important results don’t get lost.
In dementia trials, it is difficult to use global measures to determine the clinically important difference within one domain or with one outcome measure. SymptomGuide™ provides insight into each of the domains of the disease, including cognition, daily function, executive function, behaviour and physical manifestations. While other outcome measures are fixed in terms of the scoring items and cannot vary across individuals, SymptomGuide™ scoring is clear, since only the important symptoms of the disease as defined by the caregiver are recorded, ranked and tracked. So instead of tracking symptoms that are irrelevant, SymptomGuide™ only tracks those symptoms defined as being important. SymptomGuide™ delivers clinically meaningful outcomes ... that facilitate regulatory approval and reimbursement.
SymptomGuideTM delivers ... Clinically meaningful results.
Drug regulators require pharmaceutical and biotech manufacturers to prove clinical results are also clinically meaningful to patients. As the price of new therapeutics for dementia increases, reimbursement agencies will also demand the same type of clinically meaningful results. SymptomGuide™ collects only the results that are relevant to the caregiver and patient. From a menu of over 60 possible options, caregivers select only those symptoms that are most important to them and only these are tracked. The SymptomGuide™ score is the weighted average of all of the symptoms defined as important by caregivers and clinicians.
Dimensionality Doesn’t Necessarily Mean Chaos ... SymptomGuide™ simplifies without losing the message
Dementia has a high degree of dimensionality. SymptomGuide™ is designed to efficiently capture and report relevant symptoms. When combined with DGI Clinical’s state of the art data mining techniques, symptom patterns can be readily recognized and reported. This means that SymptomGuide™ can capture the dimensionality of the disease as expressed in the recorded symptoms, and simplify the result to a single score that can be rapidly communicated and understood.
Detect Patterns with Just One Glance ... With SymptomGuide™
At a glance pattern recognition is important because it demonstrates the ability of the tested compound to modify the course of the disease. DGI Clinical’s connectivity graph analysis allows for the rapid communication of clinical results to regulatory and reimbursement authorities to establish a compound’s disease modifying ability. This is also very important for companies when promoting their products to the prescriber community. DGI Clinical’s at-a-glance pattern recognition technology is derived from SymptomGuide™.
